Your cake from the freezer
This is useful in two situations:
- You have a long way to travel. Transport the cake in a cooler bag or cool box with a few ice packs. This keeps it firmer and fresher for longer on the way.
- You cannot come by just before the moment of serving. Pick up the cake earlier and place it immediately in your own freezer at home.
How to defrost the cake
- Place the cake in the refrigerator 12 hours before serving so it can thaw slowly.
- Ensure there is enough space around the cake. If it is wedged in, it will take longer to thaw.
How long does the cake keep?
This varies per cake. Always check the product page for the exact shelf life.
- Frozen: most cakes will keep for 30 days.
- After defrosting: keeps for another 2 to 4 days in the refrigerator.
